Writing Desk
Steel, concrete, Swarovski crystals, rocks, seashells from the Narragansett Bay
2019

This standing-height writing desk is the culmination of a series of works made from concrete, Swarovski crystals, and TIG-welded steel. Though the desk itself remains stagnant, the frame mimics that of an upright standing walker. Swarovski crystals, seashells and rocks collected from the Narragansett Bay act as aggregate for the table-top, forming a sort of magpie concrete, a new mineral perhaps formed in the aftermath of a post-apocalyptic bedazzling project.
